When I first heard about cryonics, it immediately struck me as a good idea. I didn't understand why biomedical science would give up on someone if its possible to extend life and I would prefer to listen from medical opinion in 600 years than a present time physician. Current cryonics practices should utilize state of the art techology already available in the frozen food industry to assist with cool down protocol. I'd like to see cryonics succeed and would even like to develop a new cryonics organization that offers membership, suspension, storage at no cost to members. I know others agree with me that it would be good to see more local chapters emerge to provide a network for resources and new interest in the subject.
I want to stress again that more methods and effort put into cryonics the better. I also feel that cryonics is a logical decision and ties in with an idealistic future. There are trends in society that take hold and I would like to see more emerge on the basis of idealism with practicality. I feel that current technology exists that cryonics should take advantage of. Society would also have to change dramatically to accept the idea of cryonics.
Cryonics for me is about love and being a connoiseur of people. My favorite people in history teach lessons of endurance and my beliefs generally coincide with the transhumanists yet along different lines. I wanted to express my core beliefs because I'm starting to feel alone now since the media shapes people profoundly, it sets a model for collective thinking. The 80s was a wonderful time to grow up and there was an exuberance in the air, a passion for doing what is right and imagining an ideal future. Many of the shows reflected family values and the purpose of intent on behalf of the individual. It was even explicitly encouraged to be an individual on many of the popular children's programs. I feel that the truth of history has been shrouded for so long because historical figures want privacy protected and because there is a group out there that doesn't get main ideas. They don't get that they should just be happy. I was also taught that everyone is a new person every 7 years because all the atoms in your body have been replaced. And I was taught the importance of having a fresh attitude.
I'm writing a novel to serve as a 300 page personal ad "Are you going to Dingle?" Its about friendships, relationships, science/stats of dating, humor with a side of seriousness, and amateur science, that leads into cryonics out of a deep love for the people I care about. In the process of writing I feel that no author I've come across has been as intimate with themselves or honest about personal issues. The hardest part is figuring out how intimate I can get in the book. I feel that the world needs to open up so we can get exactly what we want as far as dating is concerned. At this point in dating I feel like I'm hedging because lack of information. The world needs to take into account more practical matters like pedigrees of itself and stop being so distracted by that of horses or dogs. How could anyone care about that. I'm in Lexington KY and looked around at race horses thinking of finding out what a wealthy man would be like and felt it strange that people take horses more seriously than themselves.
I guess I just like being sexy and want romance. I want to see the world however I could be content with a happy sexy husband homesteading on a hobby farm in the Midwest or FL.
Once again cryonics needs to open up to new members and make use of already developed state of the art technology. Its an exciting time. Its a matter of utilizing those resources and pooling together the right people with compassion. I just want to see cryonics work.
Anyone is encouraged to discuss the ethics or procedures of cryonics. I'd also like to get feedback from anyone who considers it reasonable to examine the frozen food industry as a model for cryonics preservation to get in contact with me or make practical use of the idea.
I want to establish dialogue and an open cooperative forum related to cryonics/longevity that is open to practical ideas.
